An army can, for example, march from Edinburgh to London with the only obstacle being an army sat in the open and then a battle ensues.

What should happen, is an army should have many obstacles (which valley to go down, more bridges to cross, the list goes on and on).

This way a smaller army could cause a bigger army great problems moving from one place to another (much more realistic).

To fix this, the campaign map needs to be much smaller (The British Isles and France could be one map for example).

It shouldnt be so easy to capture the whole of England in one swoop CA sometimes do come out with smaller maps such as Caesar in Gaul but the next NTW2 or ETW2 will be made to sell to as many people as possible and not made to a more realistic scale.
